Our Pre-vegetated & Lightweight solutions have been widely adopted for commercial, residential, industrial, as well as public facilities on a worldwide basis. The core technology is originated from Germany, with vegetation expertise adapted to the specific local environment.

We are the exclusive licensee of Bonar Xero Flor in Germany. The profound history of Bonar Xero Flor dates back to the year of 1972. Today, the company’s pre-vegetated mats technology and its system build up have been configured to achieve environmental and sustainable performance through the exchange of experience and knowledge between Xero Flor Singapore and Germany

Our Philosophy

  • Xero Flor Singapore Pte Ltd is a Licensee of Bonar Xeroflor Germany.
  • The roots of Bonar Xero Flor Green stretch back to the year 1972. By the request of NATO, founder of Xero Flor, Mr. Behrens was requested to initiate study determine the camouflaging benefits of vegetated roofing for military purposes.
  • The study was to determine if vegetated roofing would cause the facility to blend with the surrounding landscape as seen from overhead. Approximately 450,000 square meters of different types of vegetated mats were installed on military bunkers and other facilities to see which types of mats were best suited for camouflaging a facility.
  • The studies for the camouflaging potential of green roofs have concluded and the roof mats are not maintained to ensure their proper, long-term performance. Even after more than a decade of neglect, the vegetation is still surviving. Mats system was then invented and installed at Oldenberg Airbase Germany.
  • Since then, continuous R&D has begun jointly with various Universities in Germany, as a result, numerous patents were obtained on the system and material innovation

The pre-vegetated mats technology, its system build-up has been configured to achieve environmental and sustainability performance through the exchange of experience and knowledge between Xero Flor Singapore and Germany, various tests and research have constantly been explored as to refine its build up to be capable to perform sustainability in tropical countries weather. Various installation in both Hong Kong and Singapore have proven its success particularly on metal or pitched roof structure. The installation on a British Barrack roof inside the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Punggol second roof in Singapore are the success of XERO FLOR tropical system.


System material is Cradle to Cradle certified for environmental benefits. Fire resistant and Wind tunnel lab tested certification are available.
